GROUP HISTORY

Mike Mastrolia – Lead Singer (AKA “THE ACAPELLA KID”)

     Started singing in the late 50’s as a member of “The Fortells”. At age 16 recorded an album on the Catamount label.  Sang lead with “The Veneers”, “Hearts Desire”, ”The Versatiles”, and “Sentimental Reasons”.  With “Memories Of You” since 1999 as a founding original member.  Originally from Jersey City, New Jersey and currently resides in central New Jersey.

Howard Brock – First Tenor and Musical Arranger

     Recorded original doo-wop music with “The Invictas” in 1959, associated with the Mohawk/Laurie record label. With “Memories Of You” since 1999 as a founding original member.  Has played keyboards and provided musical arrangements and original music for many Jazz and Rock bands.  Originally from the Bronx, NY and currently resides in Rockland County, New York.  

Frank Resola – Second Tenor

     Frank’s interest in music started in the late 50’s through the influence of his father and uncle Frank who played and recorded with the “Spy-Dells” and the “Fun Adicts”.  Frank, originally from Lodi, NJ formed a quartet in the early 60’s called the “Junior Teens” who appeared at locally.  Frank moved to the Jersey shore where he formed a band called “Frankie D & the Starcrest”.  In college he sang lead and backup for the “Green River Ordinance” band.  Frank has sung with “Reunion”, the Dardanelles”, the “Shoretones”, and Sidewalk Serenade”.

Bobby “Baby” Walker – Baritone, Tenor

Bobby grew up in Harlem singing doo wop music in high school. He sang in the choir and played baritone horn in school and later in the military.  He attended Lehman College where he studied and then taught music. Bobby has been part of the a cappella group “Step Back In Time” and the blues group “Shades Of Soul”. He was also a member of the oldies band “Memories”.

Pete Sherwood – Bass

     Has performed a broad range of oldies and popular music over the past 40 years.  He’s entertained audiences with both all male and coed groups including Make Believe and Steppin’ Out prior to joining Memories Of You.  A resident of Wayne, NJ, Pete is a long time member of both the United In Group Harmony Association and the Barbershop Harmony Society.
